Today, I was not at school and neither were my podcast mates because we were touring UMD. We are sorry. No podcast for this week and honestly, we may never again.

I am keeping it short and sweet this time. Last week we did not have school so no podcast. Today, we had a short little podcast and I think we are at where we want it. It has intro and outro music, a nice microphone, and some publicity, but we need even more publicity and it seems we are down in morale recently. In these recent podcasts, we have seemed unenthusiastic about the podcast and its not even our fault it seems, just mondays are hard days and we have the podcasts relatively early so its a little difficult to be pumped. Otherwise, we need to spread our podcast to more views too!
Hello all. It has been awhile since I have blogged and that is due to our upload schedule. Most of January, we did not podcast until the last week and we decided not to use that podcast because of the lack of content and enthusiasm from us. It did not seem up to our standards so we opted not to post it, but last week, we recorded a podcast and it was better because none of us were missing, lacking emotion, or seeming down. Last week, we talked about Kobe's death, a little bit of HFHS Basketball, and knowledge bowl. We talked some trash about our Knowledge Bowl meet that me, Kyle, and Jacob went to because of some of the other teams. As well, we got a little vocal with some swearing, but we will be sure to edit it out later. We will probably begin to have shorter podcasts because it seems easier to talk about stuff in a short span of time rather than drag on and run out of topics. Today, we did not record a podcast though because the recording room was being used by other people and we did not have the microphone because Jacob brought it home with him. Sooo until next time!
Basically, last week was spent creating another podcast in which we always aim to be creative and entertaining as one of our goals. This goal will always be applied to every one of our podcasts because it is not an informational podcast, but a rather more about our lives and opinions. In addition, we wanted to up the production value of our podcast, so we added intro and outro music to make the podcast easier to listen to. For the paper plate podcast perspiration, I believe we should focus more on editing smaller podcasts and having higher content. I realize in our last podcast, it seemed to drag on and we ran out of topics to talk about even though it was only forty minutes or so. This time, our goal should be to create a solid twenty minute or so podcast with a solid amount of entertainment and information. As well, this will help with the editing time as longer podcasts take more time to edit. In addition, to help reach our goal with having a steady conversation, we created a topics google doc so anyone can add information that they would like to talk about. For a mentor podcast, I like to listen to SuperMegaCast because even though they don't talk about appropriate, I like their format and they seem to never run out of topics to talk about. They fill the time with improv and I would like to imitate that in ours.
Since we have thanksgiving coming up, this week we only have two days of school, so our adviser said, "THERES NO GENIUS HOUR!" We have to listen to her so there's no genius hour for this Monday.
So, last week, school was closed on Monday for Deer Day so there is that explanation and we did not have Genius Hour as a result. On the other hand, today there was school and therefore we had genius hour. For this genius hour, we decided not to create a podcast, but reflect on one of ours instead. We listened over parts of the podcast and judged certain parts of it. We determined if we should even talk about this topic or the other and what was its purpose. For example, in the Paper Plates Podcast Perspiration second episode, we talk about Call of Duty quite a bit and determined the point of it. We decided that IT TOTALLY WAS, because it tells the audience our interest and opinion on the topic. Also, the listener could have repeatable feelings towards of topic. Thats it, BYE!
On last podcast, I was not there for half of it and Brock, another member, was not there at all. Similarly, Kyle was absent for this podcast, but we still survived. Likewise with the last podcast, we discussed "Modern Warfare" again, but there was different inputs on the game and we discussed the campaign more, which is the story mode. Brock was very infuriated about the game and its design, which is understandable. There was a lot of swearing and I felt like this podcast rolled smoothly as well. It will appeal more to people that play video games because we talk about them more often, but hopefully they can find some entertainment in our commentary rather than about the topic. IT WAS QUITE GOOD OVERALL! Also, I have yet to discuss this, but Howie has departed from this awesome project, so screw that guy.
So, I was a tad bit late to our very first podcast because I was too busy taking a pee test at the clinic, but I showed in halfway through it. It seemed they were talking about the new game called "Modern Warfare," which came out and all of our friends were playing it. They proceeded to talk about this topic and I walked in while they were talking about it. We talked about mainly the multiplayer aspect of the game because I have yet to complete the campaign when recording this podcast. In multiplayer, you can talk to other people playing the game and you can "trash talk" them, which is insulting them and talking bad about them. This was one aspect we talked about. This is are first podcast back and I wasn't there fully, but the topic seemed to work and conversation proceeded smoothly.
